Dr. Peter Staats Named President of Pain Physician Society



N.J. pain specialist named president of American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians

Dr. Peter S. Staats, a New Jersey pain specialist, has been named president of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, it announced Monday.

In this role he will lead a national effort to provide interventional pain management services.

Prior to the ASIPP, Staats served as the president of the Southern Pain Society, the NJ Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, World Institute of Pain and the North American Neuromodulation Society. He currently serves as adjunct Associate professor at Johns Hopkins in the department of anesthesiology and critical care medicine. He founded the division of pain medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1994, and served as its director for 10 years. He is also the current founder and managing partner of Premier Pain Centers and serves on the board of directors of Electrocore Medical.

He is affiliated with Riverview Hospital, Red Bank and CentraState Hospital, Freehold.
