Spinal Cord Stimulation Shown Effective for Cervical Spine Pain
A recent study reported on in Anesthesiology News has shown that spinal cord stimulation is an effective way to treat cervical spinal pain. The cervical spine and vertebrae are primarily located in the area of your neck. Spinal Cord Stimulation(SCS) is a procedure where a mild electrical current is used to regulate nerve signals from the spine.
The study was presented at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS). It showed that a majority of patients who had SCS reported that their pain relief ranged from “good” to “excellent”.
